Description

A delightful dish featuring tender chicken sautéed with zesty lemon juice and rich Romano cheese, perfect for family gatherings and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup Romano cheese, shredded or grated
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • Fresh parsley or basil, for garnish
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Lightly pound the chicken to an even thickness.
  2. Generously season the chicken with salt and pepper.
  3. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
  4. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Remove chicken and add chicken broth and lemon juice to the skillet, scraping the bottom of the pan for flavor.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet, sprinkle with Romano cheese, and allow it to melt into the sauce.
  7. Finish with fresh herbs and serve with extra lemon zest and cracked pepper.

Notes

For a lighter variation, use chicken broth instead of butter and try Parmesan cheese if Romano is unavailable.
