- 4 fresh salmon fillets
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Juice and zest of 1 lemon
- Fresh parsley or dill, for garnish
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Olive oil, for searing
Instructions
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel.
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat; add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Stir in lemon juice and zest, allowing the mixture to simmer slightly.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil or butter.
- Place salmon fillets skin-side down, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 4-5 minutes until skin is crisp.
- Baste with garlic lemon butter, flip the fillets, and cook for another 3-4 minutes until done.
- Remove and top with freshly chopped herbs before serving.
Notes
Adjust cooking time depending on the thickness of the salmon fillets. Use a meat thermometer to ensure an internal temperature of 145°F.
