Ingredients

  • 4 fresh salmon fillets
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice and zest of 1 lemon
  • Fresh parsley or dill, for garnish
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil, for searing

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel.
  2. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat; add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Stir in lemon juice and zest, allowing the mixture to simmer slightly.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil or butter.
  5. Place salmon fillets skin-side down, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 4-5 minutes until skin is crisp.
  6. Baste with garlic lemon butter, flip the fillets, and cook for another 3-4 minutes until done.
  7. Remove and top with freshly chopped herbs before serving.

Notes

Adjust cooking time depending on the thickness of the salmon fillets. Use a meat thermometer to ensure an internal temperature of 145°F.
