A refreshing yet comforting dish featuring flaky tilapia, vibrant green beans, and a bright lemon-garlic sauce that captures the warmth of home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 Tilapia fillets
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 2 Lemons, juiced and zested
- 2 cups Green Beans, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons Butter
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Dried herbs (e.g., thyme or parsley), optional
Instructions
- Prep the Ingredients: Gather all your ingredients. Mince the garlic, zest and juice the lemons, and trim the green beans.
- Cook the Green Beans: In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Once hot, toss in green beans and season with salt and pepper. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Set aside.
- Sear the Tilapia: In the same skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Carefully place tilapia fillets in the skillet, season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until flaky.
- Combine and Serve: Return cooked green beans to the skillet to warm them through. Gently toss to combine flavors and serve immediately, garnished with fresh lemon zest and herbs if desired.
Notes
Ensure skillet is hot before adding fish for a nice sear. Avoid overcrowding the pan to maintain temperature.
