Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground sausage (or turkey)
  • 1 package pepperoni slices
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (mozzarella and Parmesan)
  • 1 cup low-carb tomato sauce
  • 1 cup chopped bell peppers (optional)
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1 cup chopped mushrooms
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Sauté chopped onions and bell peppers in a skillet until soft, then add ground sausage, cooking until browned.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce and Italian seasoning until well blended.
  4. Blend cream cheese with half of the mozzarella and Parmesan until creamy.
  5. Layer in a greased baking dish: meat mixture, creamy cheese mixture, and repeat until ingredients are used up, topping with remaining mozzarella.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
