Description

A nostalgic recipe for creamy mashed potatoes infused with garlic, perfect for family gatherings and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup cream or whole milk
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Peel and cut the russet potatoes into chunks. Place them in a large pot and cover with cold water, adding a generous amount of salt.
  2. Bring the pot to a boil and cook the potatoes until fork-tender.
  3. While the potatoes are cooking, melt the butter in a skillet and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant.
  4. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash them using a potato masher or ricer.
  5. Slowly incorporate the melted butter and garlic mixture, along with the cream or milk, until you reach your desired consistency.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste and mix until smooth.
  7. For added flavor, fold in freshly chopped herbs like parsley or chives before serving.

Notes

Avoid over-mixing to keep the potatoes fluffy. Warm your cream or milk before adding to prevent a gummy texture.
