- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons maple syrup (for glaze)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
- Fold in the maple syrup.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 20-25 minutes.
- While the bars cool, mix powdered sugar and maple syrup until smooth to create glaze.
- Drizzle the glaze over cooled bars and let it set before slicing into squares.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Be careful not to overmix the batter for fluffy bars. Allow them to cool before glazing for the best texture.
