Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, incorporating each fully before adding the next.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Gradually add to the butter mixture, alternating with milk until combined.

- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

- Dust with powdered sugar or a light glaze made of powdered sugar and milk before serving.
