- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 buttery pie crust
- Optional: splash of almond or vanilla extract, slivered almonds, or pecans
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and blind bake the pie crust for 15-20 minutes until light golden.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cranberries, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and orange zest, tossing gently. Let sit for 10 minutes.
- Pour the cranberry mixture into the prepared crust, spreading it evenly. Add optional toppings if desired.
- Top with another layer of crust or create a lattice top, brushing with egg wash.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until filling bubbles and crust is golden brown.
- Cool for at least an hour before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
