Description

A delightful treat combining the salty crunch of pretzels with smooth caramel and chocolate, perfect for gatherings and family moments.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups pretzels
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (milk, dark, or semi-sweet)
  • 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Crush the pretzels using a food processor or a rolling pin in a bag.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and stir in the brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the sweetened condensed milk and stir until thickened and bubbling.
  4. Add the crushed pretzels, mixing until coated in the caramel mixture.
  5. Line an 8×8 inch pan with parchment paper, pour in the mixture and press down firmly.
  6. Melt the chocolate chips in a bowl and pour over the cooled pretzel layer, spreading evenly.
  7. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top and let the bars cool for about 2 hours.
  8. Lift out the bars using the parchment overhang and cut into squares to serve.

Notes

For a nutty twist, consider adding chopped nuts such as pecans or walnuts. Allow time for the bars to completely set for the best texture.
