Deliciously rich chocolate cupcakes topped with fluffy white frosting and crushed Oreos, perfect for family gatherings and celebrations.

- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup Oreo cookies, crumbled (plus extra for topping)
- Buttercream frosting for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tray with cupcake liners.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy for 2-3 minutes.
- Mix in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract until well blended.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, mixing just until incorporated.
- Gently fold in diced Oreo cookies into the batter.
- Pour the batter into each cupcake liner, filling them about two-thirds full. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let them cool completely.
- Prepare the buttercream frosting and pipe it onto the cupcakes. Optionally, dip the frosted cupcakes into melted chocolate and sprinkle crushed Oreos on top before the chocolate hardens.
Notes
For a lighter cupcake, substitute all-purpose flour with cake flour. To make it vegan, replace the eggs with flax eggs.
