- 1 cup creamy or chunky peanut butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 36 chocolate kisses
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the peanut butter and mix until thoroughly combined, then beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Drop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between them.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
- Immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie after removing them from the oven.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For uniformity, use a cookie scoop. Don’t skip the cooling time on the baking sheet to improve texture.
