Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- Prepare the pears by peeling, coring, and chopping them into bite-sized pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in the eggs.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices.
- Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped pears gently until evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 40-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
