Description

Indulge in these delightful Peppermint Oreo Truffles, a perfect blend of chocolate, cream cheese, and refreshing peppermint – ideal for festive gatherings or cozy nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pack Oreos
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • 8 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • Crushed candy canes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos in a ziploc bag using a rolling pin until fine crumbs form.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix the crushed Oreos with softened cream cheese and peppermint extract until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Roll the mixture into bite-sized balls and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Freeze the truffles for about 30 minutes to maintain their shape when dipping.
  5. While the truffles chill, melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  6. Dip each truffle in the melted chocolate, ensuring they are well coated, and return to the baking sheet.
  7. If using, sprinkle crushed candy canes on the truffles while the chocolate is still warm.
  8. Refrigerate the coated truffles for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate is set.

Notes

Ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing. Be patient while melting chocolate to prevent burning.
