Description

A delicious chicken dish with a crispy pretzel coating and a sweet cherry glaze, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pieces of chicken (breast or thighs)
  • 2 cups regular-sized pretzels
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup cherry preserves
  • 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, crush your pretzels into coarse crumbs and mix with melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pat chicken pieces dry with a paper towel and press each piece into the pretzel mixture firmly.
  4. Place the coated chicken on a lined baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  5. While the chicken bakes, combine cherry preserves and water in a saucepan and heat gently.
  6. Once baked, remove chicken from the oven and drizzle with warm cherry glaze, returning to the oven for 5 minutes.
  7. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a crispier finish, broil the chicken for the last couple of minutes of cooking. Ensure the pretzel crumbs are fresh for the best crunch.
