Description

Delightful and festive puff pastry trees filled with savory mushrooms and cheese, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup fresh mushrooms (cremini or button), sautéed
  • 1 cup cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, goat cheese, or ricotta)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (thyme, parsley)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash, or milk for a dairy-free alternative)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Sauté sliced mushrooms in a skillet over medium heat with olive oil, salt, and pepper; let cool.
  3. Roll out puff pastry into a rectangle, about 1/8-inch thick; cut into triangles.
  4. Place a spoonful of the mushroom mixture at the wide end of each triangle; roll towards the point to form a cone shape.
  5. Brush with egg wash.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Use chilled puff pastry for best results. Avoid overcrowding the filling to prevent tearing.
