Description
A delightful dish featuring flaky puff pastry shaped like trees, filled with rich burrata cheese and drizzled with a sweet and tangy cranberry glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
- 8 oz burrata cheese
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 1/2 cup sugar (brown sugar recommended)
- Fresh thyme or rosemary (to taste)
- 1 egg (for egg wash, or use milk)
- Water (for simmering cranberries)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a small saucepan, add cranberries, sugar, and a splash of water. Cook over medium heat until cranberries burst and the mixture thickens (about 10 minutes).
- On a floured surface, roll out puff pastry to about 1/8 inch thick and cut into triangles.
- Layer triangles with small dollops of burrata and form into tree shapes.
- Brush exposed pastry with egg wash or milk.
- Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
- Drizzle the warm cranberry glaze over the baked trees and serve warm.
Notes
Chill the assembled trees before baking for better puffing. Use fresh herbs for enhanced flavor.
