- 2 cups leftover turkey, diced
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry
- 1 cup carrots, diced
- 1 cup peas
- 1 cup celery, diced
- 1 cup mushrooms, diced (optional)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme
- 1 teaspoon fresh parsley
- 2 cups turkey or chicken broth
- 1/2 cup cream or milk
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet, heat butter over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, cooking until soft and fragrant.
- Include carrots, celery, and any other vegetables. Stir in the turkey and warm through.
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir for a minute. Gradually pour in broth, whisking until thickened. Add cream, and season with salt, pepper, and herbs.
- Pour the turkey mixture into a baking dish. Cover with rolled out puff pastry, tucking edges in and cutting slits on top.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden and puffy.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For best results, ensure the puff pastry is cold before baking. An egg wash on top adds a lovely sheen.
