Description

Delicious Pumpkin Scones topped with a rich Maple Glaze, perfect for autumn days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, pumpkin spice, baking powder, and salt until combined.
  3. Cut in chilled butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In another bowl, mix pumpkin puree and heavy cream until smooth. Gradually add to dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Turn dough onto a floured surface; knead gently and form into an 8-inch circle about 1 inch thick.
  6. Cut the dough into 8 wedges, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden; cool for 10 minutes.
  8. Whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, and cream for the glaze, and drizzle over scones once cooled.
  9. Let the glaze set before serving.

Notes

For a dairy-free option, substitute butter with coconut oil and heavy cream with a non-dairy alternative.
