Description

A delightful twist on traditional pizza, this Quinoa Pizza Crust is gluten-free and packed with flavor, perfect for customizing with your favorite toppings.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup quinoa
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian herbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Rinse the quinoa under cold water for about 2 minutes to remove bitterness.
  2. Cook the quinoa in a pot with 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, cover, and cook for about 15 minutes until water is absorbed.
  3. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Fluff the cooked quinoa with a fork and let cool slightly.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine quinoa, eggs, cheese, minced garlic, herbs, and salt. Mix well.
  6. Spread the mixture evenly onto the baking sheet, shaping it into a crust about 1/2 inch thick.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the crust is golden and firm.
  8. Add your favorite toppings and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and toppings are heated.
  9. Slice and serve immediately, optionally drizzling with olive oil or balsamic glaze.

Notes

Mix in flavored olive oil or nutritional yeast for a cheesier flavor. For vegan options, substitute eggs with flax eggs and cheese with almond flour.
