Description

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cold, cut into small cubes
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 23 tablespoons ice water
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 jalapeño, diced (adjust to taste)
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Eggs (for binding)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine flour, butter, sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl until it resembles coarse crumbs. Add ice water until dough comes together. Chill for 30 minutes.
  3. While the crust chills, combine cranberries, jalapeño, brown sugar, and lime juice in a saucepan. Cook until cranberries begin to burst, about 10 minutes.
  4. Roll out the chilled dough and cut out circles for the tartlet pans.
  5. Press the dough into tartlet pans and fill with the cranberry-jalapeño mixture. Create decorative shapes with leftover dough if desired.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until crust is golden and filling is bubbling.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes before removing from pans and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Make sure to chill the dough thoroughly for best results. Avoid overfilling the tartlets to prevent overflow during baking.
