Description

These soft, fudgy cookies combine rich chocolate and creamy peanut butter for a nostalgic treat that brings families together.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup creamy or crunchy peanut butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Beat in the peanut butter, followed by the eggs one at a time. Add the vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, blending until just combined.
  6. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  7. Roll the chilled dough into 1-inch balls, then roll in powdered sugar to coat.
  8. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheets, 2 inches apart, and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  9. Let the cookies sit for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
  10. Enjoy with friends or family, and don’t forget to save some for yourself!

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for best results. Chilling the dough helps achieve a thicker cookie.
