- 4 salmon fillets (skin-on)
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds (mixed white and black)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Optional: 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Rinse the salmon fillets under cold water and pat dry. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Toast sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3–5 minutes, stirring often until golden brown. Set aside.
- In the same skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and add minced garlic.
- Place salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet and cook for about 5–6 minutes until the skin is crisp.
- Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top and flip the fillets carefully, cooking for an additional 4–5 minutes.
- Drizzle soy sauce during the last minute of cooking and allow it to caramelize slightly.
- Plate your salmon, sprinkle with fresh sesame seeds, and serve with sautéed vegetables or salad.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, substitute salmon with marinated spiced tofu. Ensure to allow the fish to rest after cooking for better texture.
