Description

A delightful dish of salmon fillets coated with crispy toasted sesame seeds, bringing a perfect balance of flavors and textures.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (skin-on)
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds (mixed white and black)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse the salmon fillets under cold water and pat dry. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Toast sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3–5 minutes, stirring often until golden brown. Set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and add minced garlic.
  4. Place salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet and cook for about 5–6 minutes until the skin is crisp.
  5. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top and flip the fillets carefully, cooking for an additional 4–5 minutes.
  6. Drizzle soy sauce during the last minute of cooking and allow it to caramelize slightly.
  7. Plate your salmon, sprinkle with fresh sesame seeds, and serve with sautéed vegetables or salad.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute salmon with marinated spiced tofu. Ensure to allow the fish to rest after cooking for better texture.
