Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 1 cup Caramel Sauce
  • Flaky Sea Salt for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter slowly in a medium saucepan over low heat.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the granulated and brown sugar until blended.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking in the vanilla extract afterward.
  5. Mix together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add to the wet ingredients.
  6. Prepare the homemade salted caramel and ensure it’s still pourable.
  7. Layer half of the brownie batter in the pan, drizzle with half of the caramel, then add the remaining batter and top with the rest of the caramel.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Cool the brownies and sprinkle with flaky sea salt before cutting into squares.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, substitute coconut oil for butter. To make vegan brownies, use flax eggs and vegan sugar alternatives.
