- 1 cup Unsalted Butter
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 4 large Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt
- 1 cup Caramel Sauce
- Flaky Sea Salt for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Melt the butter slowly in a medium saucepan over low heat.
- Remove from heat and stir in the granulated and brown sugar until blended.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking in the vanilla extract afterward.
- Mix together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add to the wet ingredients.
- Prepare the homemade salted caramel and ensure it’s still pourable.
- Layer half of the brownie batter in the pan, drizzle with half of the caramel, then add the remaining batter and top with the rest of the caramel.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool the brownies and sprinkle with flaky sea salt before cutting into squares.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, substitute coconut oil for butter. To make vegan brownies, use flax eggs and vegan sugar alternatives.
