Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your cake pans.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the unsalted butter and granulated sugar until pale and fluffy.
  4. Add in the eggs one at a time, incorporating each before adding the next; then mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk.
  6. In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, and heavy cream. Stir continuously until it comes to a gentle boil, then remove from heat and add sea salt.
  7. Divide the batter between your prepared pans and bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Cool the cakes completely before frosting with salted caramel frosting and drizzling any remaining caramel on top.
  9. Slice and enjoy!
