Description

Deliciously rich blondies featuring a perfect blend of sweet and salty flavors with crunchy pretzels and drizzled caramel.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup pretzels, chopped
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
  • Optional: chocolate chips or nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently until fully melted.
  3. Remove from heat and whisk in brown sugar until well blended. Allow to cool slightly, then mix in eggs and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until combined, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Fold in pretzel pieces and any optional add-ins.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. While still warm, drizzle salted caramel sauce on top.
  9. Allow to cool for 15 minutes in the pan before slicing into squares.

Notes

For added flavor, sprinkle a touch of sea salt on top after drizzling the caramel.
