Description
A delightful and flavorful dish featuring tender broccoli cooked in a rich garlic sauce combined with crispy bacon.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 heads of fresh broccoli, cut into florets
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 6 slices of thick-cut bacon, chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Optional: crushed red pepper flakes, lemon juice, or Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Begin by washing and chopping the broccoli into bite-sized florets. Set aside.
- Chop the bacon into small pieces and mince the garlic.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the bacon pieces. Cook until crispy, about 5–7 minutes.
- Remove the bacon from the skillet, leaving the rendered fat behind. Sauté the minced garlic in the bacon fat for about 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
- Toss the broccoli into the skillet with garlic, coating well. Add salt and pepper.
- Add a splash of water or broth if necessary, and cook until the broccoli is bright green and tender, about 5 minutes.
- Return the bacon to the skillet and toss everything together.
- For extra richness, squeeze fresh lemon juice or sprinkle Parmesan cheese before serving.
- Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy!
Notes
Always taste as you go for perfect seasoning. Avoid overcooking the broccoli to maintain its texture.
