- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch fresh ginger, grated
- 8 oz shiitake or button mushrooms, sliced
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
Instructions
- Prepare the beef: Slice your beef into thin strips against the grain to ensure tenderness.
- Make the marinade: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and freshly grated ginger.
- Combine ingredients: Place the sliced beef in the slow cooker. Pour the marinade over the beef, making sure every piece is well-coated.
- Add mushrooms: Toss in the sliced mushrooms.
- Cook: Set your slow cooker on low and let it cook for 6-8 hours or on high for about 3-4 hours.
- Thicken the sauce: About 30 minutes before serving, mix cornstarch with cold water and add it to the slow cooker.
- Garnish and serve: Sprinkle green onions over the top and serve over rice or noodles.
