Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley or chives, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse the scallops under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. Sprinkle both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat until hot, then add a tablespoon of butter to melt.
  4. Place the scallops in the skillet, cooking for about 2-3 minutes without moving them to develop a golden crust.
  5. Flip the scallops gently and add the minced garlic, cooking for another 1-2 minutes until opaque.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the remaining butter, lemon juice, and zest.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with freshly chopped herbs.
