Description

A creamy, flavorful dip combining smoky gouda and sweet caramelized onions, perfect for gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz smoked gouda, shredded
  • 1 large onion, finely sliced
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp fresh herbs (thyme or chives), chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Slice the onions into even pieces for caramelizing.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a medium skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the onions and a pinch of salt; sauté for about 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for another minute.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  6. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and smoked gouda in a mixing bowl.
  8. Mix in the sautéed onions and garlic until well combined; season with salt, pepper, and fresh herbs.
  9. Transfer the mixture to a small baking dish and smooth out the top.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.
  11. Serve warm with veggies, tortilla chips, or bread.
