- 1 cup Sourdough Discard
- 1 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour (whole wheat optional)
- 3/4 cup Brown Sugar (coconut sugar optional)
- 2 tsp Cinnamon (freshly ground recommended)
- 2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 cup Melted Butter (or vegetable oil)
- 2 Eggs (or flax eggs)
- 1/2 cup Milk (dairy or non-dairy)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- Mix the sourdough discard, melted butter, eggs, and milk in a bowl until smooth.
- Combine the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
- Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the bread in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
For added flavor, consider adding nuts, raisins, or vanilla extract. Measure flour accurately to prevent a dry loaf.
