- 1 lb flank or sirloin steak
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal (optional)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 large eggs
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Prepare the steak by cutting it into thin strips, about 1 inch wide.
- Season the flour with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a shallow bowl.
- Beat the eggs in another bowl until smooth.
- Coat each steak strip in the egg mixture, letting the excess drip off, then dredge it through the seasoned flour.
- Heat about half an inch of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Fry the coated strips in batches for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
