Instructions

  2. Cream together butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one by one, ensuring full incorporation each time.
  4. Sift in the flour and fold in the soaked date mixture; do not overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. For the toffee sauce, melt butter in a saucepan, stir in brown sugar and heavy cream, and let bubble until smooth.
