Description
Delightful puffs filled with whipped cream and ripe strawberries, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup water
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Fresh strawberries, ripe and juicy
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter in water. Once melted and boiling, remove from heat.
- Gradually stir in the flour until a cohesive dough forms, then return to low heat for a minute.
- Remove from heat and let cool. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well until smooth.
- Transfer dough to a piping bag and pipe small mounds onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and firm to the touch.
- While cooling, whip the heavy cream with sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
- Slice cooled puffs in half, fill with whipped cream and strawberries, and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
For a tangier twist, substitute whipped mascarpone for the cream. Frozen strawberries can be used in a pinch, though fresh is preferred.
