Description
Strawberry Crumble Buttery Bars are a delightful dessert featuring a buttery crust, juicy strawberry filling, and a crispy crumble topping, perfect for summer gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 4 cups fresh strawberries, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix together the softened butter, granulated sugar, flour, and salt until crumbly. Press evenly into the bottom of a greased 9×9 inch baking pan and bake for about 15 minutes until lightly golden.
- While the crust bakes, chop the strawberries and mix them with sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract in a bowl. Let it sit for a few minutes.
- In another bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, and softened butter for the crumble topping. Blend until crumbly.
- Spread the strawberry mixture evenly over the baked crust, then sprinkle the crumble topping generously over the strawberries. Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Let the bars cool in the pan on a wire rack to set, then cut into squares.
- Serve warm, optionally topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Use ripe strawberries for the best flavor. Allowing the filling to sit can enhance sweetness.
