- 8 oz. cremini or button mushrooms, finely chopped
- 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh thyme, chopped
- 1/2 cup parmesan or mozzarella cheese, grated
- 1/4 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt (optional)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Prepare the mushrooms: Clean and finely chop the mushrooms. Sauté them in a skillet with olive oil until golden brown and tender. Add garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
- Mix the filling: In a bowl, combine the sautéed mushrooms and garlic with cream cheese, sour cream, herbs, and half of your cheese. Stir until well blended.
- Transfer to a baking dish: Spoon the mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Add cheese topping: Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
- Bake it right: Preheat your oven to 350°F. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Serve and enjoy: Allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving with toasted baguette slices or fresh veggies.
