- 1 round sourdough or French loaf
- 1 cup fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup fresh crab meat
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup bell peppers, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Cut off the top of the round loaf and hollow it out.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and bell peppers, cooking until softened.
- Incorporate minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Mix in the seafood and cook until opaque, about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Combine seafood mixture with cream cheese, herbs, and cheese.
- Fill the hollowed-out loaf with the seafood mixture.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until the bread is golden brown.
- Serve warm with reserved bread pieces for dipping.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, replace seafood with sautéed mushrooms. Pair with a crisp salad for a complete meal.
