- 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, chilled and cubed
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
- Pinch of Salt
- 2 Large Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
- Optional: Chopped pecans or walnuts, chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, and chilled butter. Mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press the mixture into mini muffin tin bases and chill for 15 minutes.
- In another bowl, whisk together brown sugar, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt. Add eggs, vanilla, and heavy cream. Mix until smooth.
- Pre-bake tart shells for about 10 minutes.
- Pour filling into each shell, filling them about three-quarters full.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until filling is set but slightly jiggly.
- Cool in the tin for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally with a sprinkle of sea salt.
Notes
Chill the dough for best texture. Ensure not to overbake the tarts for a soft filling.
