- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then pour in the vanilla extract.
- Mix together all-purpose flour, baking soda, and cocoa powder in another bowl.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and blend just until combined.
- Divide the dough in half and mix one half with cocoa powder.
- Form the cookies by rolling small portions of each dough into logs and twisting them together.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes until edges are set but centers are soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, substitute coconut oil for butter. For gluten-free cookies, use almond flour instead of all-purpose flour.
