- 1 lb boneless chicken (breast or thighs)
- 1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
- 3 tbsp soy sauce (mix of regular and dark)
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch fresh ginger, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1–2 chili peppers, sliced (adjust to taste)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp oil for cooking
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken in soy sauces and cornstarch for 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add minced garlic and ginger, sauté until fragrant.
- Add marinated chicken, cooking until browned and cooked through (5-7 minutes).
- Add sliced peppers and onion, sauté for 3-4 minutes until tender yet crisp.
- Stir in oyster sauce and chopped Thai basil, mix well to coat.
- Cook for an additional minute, adjust seasoning as needed.
- Serve hot over jasmine rice.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, substitute chicken with firm tofu. Adjust the spice level by using more or fewer chili peppers.
