Description

A flavorful smoked salmon dish cooked on a Traeger grill, infused with herbs and spices, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • Fresh salmon fillet (skin-on)
  • Cedar planks (or maple/cherry wood)
  • Fresh herbs (dill or thyme)
  • Garlic
  • Olive oil
  • Citrus juice (lemon or orange)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Brown sugar or smoked paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Soak the cedar planks in water for at least two hours.
  2. Rinse the salmon under cold water and pat dry.
  3. Drizzle olive oil over the salmon, then season with salt, pepper, and herbs.
  4. Preheat the Traeger grill to 225°F for about 15 minutes.
  5. Place soaked cedar planks on the grill grates for 5 minutes.
  6. Lay the salmon on the planks, skin-side down, and close the lid.
  7. Smoke the salmon for approximately 1 to 1.5 hours until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  8. Carefully remove the planks and serve garnished with lemon wedges and fresh herbs.

Notes

For best results, monitor the internal temperature using a meat thermometer. Avoid overcrowding on the grill to ensure proper smoke circulation.
