Description
Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, these Tuna Patties are a delicious family favorite that can be enjoyed as an appetizer or a main dish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 (5 oz) cans tuna, drained
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or traditional)
- 1/2 cup onions, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup fresh herbs (parsley or dill)
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Hot sauce, to taste
- Oil, for frying
Instructions
- Drain the canned tuna thoroughly and transfer it to a mixing bowl.
- Add finely chopped onions, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, fresh herbs, and seasonings. Mix until you achieve a well-combined mixture.
- Crack an egg into the bowl and blend it with the other ingredients to hold it all together.
- Shape the mixture into patties, making them about ½ inch thick for even cooking.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a generous drizzle of oil. Once hot, place your patties gently into the pan.
- Sauté each side for about 3-4 minutes or until they’re golden brown and crispy.
- Drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil.
Notes
Ensure not to overcrowd the pan while cooking for even browning. Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
