Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 1/2 cup chocolate (milk or dark), melted
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy (3-4 minutes).
- Add the egg yolk and mix until just combined.
- Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until the dough comes together.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on a lined baking sheet, pressing a thumb into the center of each to create a well.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden, then immediately fill the wells with caramel sauce and return to the oven for 2-3 minutes until bubbly.
- Let cool on a wire rack.
- Once cool, drizzle melted chocolate over the cookies and let set before serving.
Notes
For gluten-free cookies, use a gluten-free flour blend. Optional: add nuts for extra crunch.
