Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup chocolate (milk or dark), melted
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy (3-4 minutes).
  3. Add the egg yolk and mix until just combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until the dough comes together.
  5. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on a lined baking sheet, pressing a thumb into the center of each to create a well.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden, then immediately fill the wells with caramel sauce and return to the oven for 2-3 minutes until bubbly.
  7. Let cool on a wire rack.
  8. Once cool, drizzle melted chocolate over the cookies and let set before serving.

Notes

For gluten-free cookies, use a gluten-free flour blend. Optional: add nuts for extra crunch.
