Description

Delicious upside-down tarts made with flaky puff pastry and a savory mushroom filling, perfect for gatherings or a cozy night in.


Ingredients

  • Puff pastry
  • Mushrooms (cremini or button)
  • Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary, parsley)
  • Cheese (mozzarella or goat cheese)
  • Onions (caramelized)
  • Olive oil
  • Butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Add olive oil and butter to a skillet, melting and coating the pan.
  4. Toss in diced onions and sauté until caramelized, about 10 minutes.
  5. Stir in mushrooms and cook until tender.
  6. Add fresh herbs and cheese, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  7. Place pastry in a muffin tin and fill with mushroom mixture.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes until puffed and golden.
  9. Cool for a few minutes, then flip onto a serving platter.
  10. Drizzle with balsamic glaze or sprinkle with herbs before serving.
