Description

A rich and creamy dessert infused with the delicate flavor of vanilla beans, Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta is perfect for family gatherings and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon gelatin
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 vanilla beans
  • Optional: splash of milk or cream for blending

Instructions

  1. Bloom the gelatin in a small bowl with a couple of tablespoons of warm water and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, whole milk, and sugar over medium heat until steaming. Do not boil.
  3. Scrape the seeds from the vanilla beans and add both seeds and pods to the mixture.
  4. Simmer for a few minutes, then remove from heat. Discard the pod and stir in the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved.
  5. Pour the mixture into prepared molds and cool to room temperature before refrigerating for at least four hours or until set.
  6. To serve, run a knife around the edge, dip molds in warm water briefly, and invert onto plates. Garnish with fresh fruit or honey if desired.

Notes

For lighter versions, use half-and-half or dairy-free options like almond milk. Allow sufficient setting time for the best texture.
