- 8 oz creamy goat cheese
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 cup freshly chopped walnuts
- 2 tbsp fresh herbs (thyme or rosemary)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Chop the walnuts roughly and heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the walnuts and toast them for about 3-5 minutes until fragrant and golden.
- Reduce heat and add goat cheese, then pour in maple syrup and gently fold together.
- Stir in fresh herbs and red pepper flakes, adjusting seasoning if needed.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving with crackers or baguette slices.
Notes
For a milder flavor, substitute goat cheese with cream cheese. Pecans or sliced almonds can be used instead of walnuts.
