Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a rectangular baking pan.
- Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each.
- Sift together the flour and baking powder, and gradually incorporate into the butter mixture, alternating with milk.
- Stir in the cherries and pistachios until evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth out.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Mix the icing ingredients until smooth and drizzle over the cooled slice.
- Garnish with more chopped pistachios and cherries if desired.
