Description

A quick and simple salmon dish with a delicious blend of sweet brown sugar and salty soy sauce, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (fresh or thawed)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Green onions, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prep the salmon: Start by patting the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
  2. Make the marinade: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and ginger if you’re using it.
  3. Marinate the fish: Pour half of the marinade over the salmon and let it sit for about 10 minutes.
  4. Heat the skillet: Use a non-stick skillet for best results. Heat over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of sesame oil.
  5. Cook the salmon: Once hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down. Sear for 4-5 minutes before flipping, then pour in the remaining marinade and cook for another 3-4 minutes until done.
  6. Serve and enjoy: Transfer to a platter, garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, and dig in!

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute salmon with tofu. Adjust cooking times based on the thickness of the fillets.
