Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups grated apples (Gala or Honeycrisp)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease your donut pan with butter or cooking spray.
  3. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl.
  4. Mix melted butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla in another bowl.
  5. Fold the grated apples into the wet mixture.
  6. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until combined.
  7. Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity 2/3 full.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and salt for the glaze.
  11. Dip each cooled donut into the glaze and allow to set.
