Description

A delightful Beef & Scallion Stir Fry that’s rich in flavor and steeped in tradition, perfect for family dinners and gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef (flank or sirloin), sliced against the grain
  • 1 cup scallions, sliced (white and green parts separated)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil (canola or peanut)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (for finishing)

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients by slicing the beef and scallions, and mincing the garlic and ginger.
  2. Marinate the beef with soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch for 15 minutes.
  3. Heat a skillet or wok over high heat and add cooking oil.
  4. Sear the marinated beef in a single layer for about 1 minute, then stir-fry until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  5. Add the white parts of the scallions to the skillet and stir-fry for 30 seconds, then toss in the green tops.
  6. Combine the beef with the scallions, stirring everything together and letting the flavors meld for another minute. Add more soy sauce or sesame oil to taste.
  7. Serve immediately over steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

For added crunch, feel free to add bell peppers or mushrooms. Adjust the seasoning according to your taste preferences.
