- Fresh strawberries, sliced

- 2 tablespoons brandy (for strawberries)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup malted milk powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prep the strawberries by rinsing them, removing stems, slicing, and mixing with sugar and brandy. Set aside for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Combine flour, baking powder, and sugar in a bowl.
- Add cold butter and mix until coarse crumbs form.
- Stir in the milk until just combined.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface, pat it down, and cut out shortcake rounds.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Whip heavy cream, malted milk powder, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Assemble shortcakes with strawberries and whipped cream.
- Serve immediately for best flavor.
Notes
For variations, swap strawberries with blueberries or raspberries. Store leftovers separately for best results.
