  • 2 tablespoons brandy (for strawberries)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup malted milk powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prep the strawberries by rinsing them, removing stems, slicing, and mixing with sugar and brandy. Set aside for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  3. Combine flour, baking powder, and sugar in a bowl.
  4. Add cold butter and mix until coarse crumbs form.
  5. Stir in the milk until just combined.
  6. Turn the dough onto a floured surface, pat it down, and cut out shortcake rounds.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Whip heavy cream, malted milk powder, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  9. Assemble shortcakes with strawberries and whipped cream.
  10. Serve immediately for best flavor.
